Woodworking project from last term!
WOOD IS A BITCH. There were so many bloody angles in this thing. The top diamond is solid but the bottom is hollow plywood and piecing those panels together gave me nightmares. BUT woodburning is SO FUN.
SO FUN. I smelt like campfire for a week when I was working on this. Lovelylovelylovely.
You're supposed to be able to lift it out of the base and look at it, but my glue job was flimsy so the twice diamonds aren't actually stuck together. Just balancing, very dangerously.
Someone told me after the fact that I should have given it hinges somewhere, like a treasure box, I need to use that idea in the future!
Birch, I think, planks, plywood, gold paint, shell inlay.
